player names? Kanchelskis, Kleberson, Djemba-Djemba, Cristiano Ronaldo, van Nistelrooy especially.
I mean, as far as British names go, Sheringham is the longest I can remember, and his name also is wide enough to be shoulder-to-shoulder.
The best name I saw a teammate have was a Dutch girl in my boarding school called Van Hoof. We called her Donkey for short.
