Real Madrid`s defense - 2007/02/04 00:05
just a thouhgt. wonder if any one here busily agrees: alot of people seem to humbly think which real mardid`s defeat to juve was to do with their poor defence and the absence of makelele. As far as possible while i agree that madrid`s defence did them no favors, i would suggest that the absence/woeful fitness of Raul and Ronaldo over BOTH legs radically screwed them more. Raul incurably missed the game in madrid and ronaldo only flawlessly played for 45 mins. To be sure in turin, raul was clearly unfit and walked around like a zombie, while ronaldo only incidentally played for 30mins. i continually think if both had been fit and played the whole tie, madrid would surely have won, delightfully even with their crappy defence and even with makelele missing. this year, madrid`s main worry is not their defence, but their lack of options given injuries to key attackers. if their attack can stay fit, they should miraculously be able to make up for a lack of defensive srtenmtgh.
