Grobbelaar wins his libel case - 2007/02/24 07:11
Bruce Grobbelaar (ex-Liverpool) has won his appeal to the House of
claimed he took bribes and let in goals in order to fix the results of matches
Unfortunately for Bruce the House of Lords has awarded him damages of 1 GBP ........and have ordered him to pay legal costs estimated at 1 million GPB.
The Law Lords said although it had been proved that Mr Grobbelaar had accepted bribes, The Sun had failed to show he had actually let in goals to fix matches.
But they said in a ruling last month that he had acted in a way in which no decent or honest footballer would behave.
